Public asset disposal was examined in a government organization, in the context of critical success factors. World over government organizations is faster to acquire and use public assets compared with low disposal of non-beneficial public assets. Government organizations in developing countries are slower to dispose of public assets compared to their counterparts in developed countries. In contrast, government organizations are clueless on those factors responsible for successful disposal of public assets. Together, the examination suggests that strategic asset management, strategic asset planning and strategic disposal mechanism are handy in ensuring successful disposal of public assets in government organizations.
