Separation – the last function of Human Resource Management – is usually neglected both in practice and in theory. Consequently, most retirees globally are confronted by financial constraints, loneliness, depressive symptoms, poor health and increased alcohol consumption despite living well as their careers blossomed. Most of scholarly work usually focuses on financial wellbeing neglecting physical, social and psychological wellbeing. This “must read” book fills this gap by presenting empirical evidence to illuminate both practitioners and scholars on employees’ separation planning as an integral function of Human Resource Management towards enhancing employee retirement preparedness.
