Description

The motivation for writing this book was an issue bothering my mind on why most government projects fail. This propelled me to conduct a study to investigate the causes of low success rates in the completion of projects in both public and private sectors in Ghana with focus on the Greater Accra Region. The book has analyzed how such elements as the setting of project goals, project scope, project budget, monitoring and feedback, meeting stakeholder expectations and project management practices influence completion of projects in the two sectors. The study adopted descriptive quantitative techniques of data collection and analysis. A stratified sampling procedure and census sampling technique was used to identify the sample size of 200. The researcher was able to administer 158 fully completed questionnaires and used descriptive and regression statistics to analyze the data collected. Correlation method was employed to show the relationship between the dependent and independent variables and chi-test and structural equation model to test the hypothesis.
