Distribution and activity of microbial population for jute retting and their impact on the water quality of jute growing areas of Bangladesh was surveyed. Utilization and suitability of retting effluents as a fertilizer in vegetable crops production were also determined. Referring to the recent advancements made in isolating completed/partial genes controlling desirable traits, it is suggested to use the modern molecular technology not only to improve the quality of jute fibers but also bioengineer microbial flora to further reduce the retting time without sacrificing fiber qualities.
A larger amount of nano-devices are presently under medical examination as well as several devices are commercially available. Recent advancements in bio-computing and nano-technology accelerated the discovery of novel biomarkers in the emerging field of personalized medicine. Personalized medicine, called as predictive medicine, deals with disease detection and therapy from the molecular profile of each individual; uses genetic/molecular information to predict disease development, progression, and clinical outcome.
