Description

A study of factors behind the relocation of an industrial company in the eastern of the DRC, through SAIBU, revealed that insecurity in the area where factories are located, high taxation and the lack of state subsidies, and difficult access to raw materials due to impassable roads are the factors behind relocation. As a result, in the fight to industrialize the DRC, the State must review its fiscal policy to make it increasingly attractive to local industrialists, promote a good business climate capable of bearing tax charges and achieving a good profit margin, and develop mechanisms to attract foreign investment in order to reduce the unemployment rate caused by delocalization. We believe that industrialization is also one of the most successful paths to sustainable development for the DRC.
