Description

This book covers instructional leadership which is important for realization of effective teaching and learning in any educational institution. It is organized into eight topics on themes related to instructional leadership in general and instructional supervision in particular. To begin with, definitions of instructional leadership and instructional supervision, goal and objectives of instructional leadership, instructional leadership principles, and qualities and characteristics of an effective instructional leader are specifically covered. In addition, the principal’s instructional leadership roles, and instructional leadership models and challenges have been presented. The evolution, principles, purposes, characteristics, strategies and techniques of instructional supervision, roles of various actors and players in instructional supervision have also been discussed. Finally, approaches to instructional supervision, the clinical supervision process, and issues and challenges facing instructional supervision are described.
