“HUMAN AND ALGORITHMS: HIGH VALUE-ADDED SERVICES”, combines two aspects of the present reaction. The cover of the work, already, binds the “Vitruvian man” by Leonardo da Vinci, also chosen by the EU for the Eurozone, with algorithms in the background, combines tradition and modernity. Man as a living part of the human species, on the one hand, and his relationship with new emerging technologies: from AI, through the use of online platforms that work with algorithms to offer traditional financial services such as financial advice and management of investment portfolios. The fact that man uses online platforms working by algorithm, to obtain high added value services, highlights how thin the line can be between the manifestation of will of man in negotiations and business relations, and the c.d. legal concepts of automatism and determinism. The work tries to give a general overview, although not exhaustive, of this emerging phenomenon, which has been going on for a long time, think for example of the case of e-Toro.
