Traffic system simulation and evaluation

This book is mainly about how to optimize the traffic design of the road system around the northern square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi’an, China, using traffic simulation software. This involves several steps. First, analyzing the impact of changing selected road segments from one-way to two-way traffic using TransCAD software. Second, Using Synchro software to design the studied road segments and develop traffic signal timing plans. Third, evaluating the traffic design scenarios using VISSIM software. Finally, completing engineering drawings of the recommended scenario using AutoCAD, providing visual representations of the proposed traffic design. This book aims to improve traffic flow and safety around the Big Wild Goose Pagoda area through strategic road network design and signal timing optimization, enhancing the overall visitor experience and accessibility to this famous tourist attraction in Xi’an.
