Description

For many years, countries around the world have researched, applied, and practiced the theory of supply chain cooperation. However, for developing countries like Vietnam, this problem has only currently focused on a few industries that are considered the forerunners of the region’s development like wood. Meanwhile, research on large-scale sectors, such as fisheries, is scarce. Since there is a large sea area at disposal, fisheries have become one of the top five export-generating sectors, with an export value estimated at $9.57 billion in 2021 (Report of the General Department of Fisheries, 2021). Despite constantly achieving positive turnover and growth rates, Vietnamese seafood still faces a number of challenges, most frequently the imposition of anti-dumping taxes in foreign markets. Therefore, in order to improve their competitive position and promote sustainable development in the volatile market, companies have no way but to cooperate. For all the above reasons, the authors decided to choose the research topic: “Factors affecting cooperation in the international supply chain of Vietnamese seafood enterprises”.
