Description

Nowadays many countries suffer from weak performance in foreign language. This is because learners do not acquire foreign languages naturally as they are not exposed to a rich linguistic environment Ekdedy(1973). Children receive complicated adult grammatical and lexical items which are grammatical data and despite individual differences in intelligence, almost all children within a short period of time are able to crack the linguistic system of their language and are able to produce utterances of high grammatical complexity. The acquisition of L1 happens within a considerable time of cognitive and physical growth. This happens in a social context. Exposure as the main factor in L1 acquisition plays the same role to enhance L2 learning ability- the more the learners are exposed to L2 the greater the success will be according to Ran(1974) L2 learners are not exposed to suffocation linguistic data as in the case of L1. An L2 learner receives carefully graded items presented in small doses for a few hours a week.
