Description

Providing quality healthcare is a challenge to many Lower Middle Income Countries. This study sought to evaluate the quality of healthcare provided to subscribers of the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Upper East Region of Ghana. In carrying out this study, literature about the operations of the Scheme from reports of the Ghana Health Service, journal publications and textbooks were reviewed. The quantitative research approach was adopted for collecting and analyzing the primary data. After determining the sample size, the convenience sampling method was used to select a sample of four hundred respondents. Close-ended questionnaires were used to collect the demographic data while Likert-Scaled questionnaires were administered to collect the primary data on each of the service quality dimensions. The structural equation model and multi-regression analysis were carried out applying the Statistical Package for Social Sciences on the data collected. A correlation analysis was also carried out to establish the relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction.
