Description

The aim of this book is to offer our readers a review of the pathophysiology of arterial hypertension, with an emphasis on the involvement of the immune system. For this, we have structured five chapters where we propose the NLRP3 inflammasome as a possible therapeutic target in kidney disease and other diseases (chapter I), the description of the activation mechanisms of inflammasome (chapter II), biochemical, genetic and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms of the inflammasome (chapter III), the role of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (chapter IV) and the role of the celicrein-kinin system (chapter V) in the development of hypertension.
