Purulent collections formed in the brain parenchyma, brain abscesses are serious and potentially fatal conditions if not treated properly. One of the main causes is otorhinolaryngological infections, especially in older children and adolescents. These are serious complications of otorhinolaryngological infections that can be life-threatening or result in neurological sequelae of varying severity after recovery. In this monograph, we will review the different otorhinolaryngological infections that cause brain abscesses, as well as the medical and surgical treatments of these abscesses.
