The aim of the work Specific Features of English and American Dystopian Novel in the 2nd Half of the XX Century is to systematically analyze main conceptual and formal characteristics of the Dystopian Novel, identify the specific characteristics of it in the 2nd half of XX century and at the beginning of XXI Century, based on the analysis of the novels expose not only the common characteristics of the Dystopian Novel implied in them but individual elements as well, define how the peculiarities of the Dystopian Novel are modified in the postmodern epoch. The empirical materials are the novels written in the 2nd half of XX century and early in our own century – Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange (1963), Kurt Vonnegut Cat’s Cradle (1963), Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale (1985) and Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go (2005).
