This is a text book intended for biology students who studied the General Chemistry I and II courses in details in their early college study. I tried my best to make it simple in the order that they would accept it. Chapters I and II start with the types of bonds, the types of reactions, and types of bond cleavage in organic reactions. Chapters III to XI explain the nomenclature of all types of organic compounds based on the common and IUPAC systems, the physical properties, and the preparations and reactions of all types of organic compounds including hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, phenols, ethers, carbonyl compounds, amines, and nitriles. Some of preparative methods and reactions have been purposely reduced because of their obsolesce or lack of their practical applications. By studying the book, with little dependence on the teacher, the student should be able to further take the organic chemistry lab course and to study all other dependent courses such as biochemistry, enzymes, molecular biology, environment and health courses. Moreover, this book can be more suitable and helpful to premedical students since they are much obliged to study organic chemistry for the same purpose mentioned above. I wish this book to be a teaching text that students find readable.
