This book covers drought adaptation technologies implemented by rain fed agricultural farmers in Isingiro Town Council. This is the main town in Isingiro district in Western Uganda whose 3 major crops are Bananas, Beans and Maize is located in the great cattle corridor which is adversely impacted by drought linked to climate changed.
Framers in their effort to survive under the rain fed agriculture in a drought hit cattle corridor town are implementing crop drought adaptation technologies for each of the priority crops for which they testify of contributing to improved crop harvests and have made an effort to testify of this estimate. Some of the techniques including manure application, mulching, intercropping and weeding are the cross-cutting Extended Dry Spell Adaptation Technologies (EDATs) to which most of the farmers testify of 80% and above improved productivity of each of the priority crops amidst drought.
