Corruption is a complex and multifaceted problem that cannot be solved in isolation, and the reality of its effect is the socio-economic threats it poses to Nigeria as a nation. It suppresses economic growth and undermines the sustainable management of natural resources. It breaches fundamental human rights, undermines national security, exacerbates poverty and promotes instability. The cruel effect of corruption is felt by millions of Nigerians. This book explores the role of law and Anti-Corruption Agencies in challenging and curbing corruption in Nigeria by examining and analyzing the Nigerian anti-corruption legal framework and their approach towards the fight against corruption and democratic process. It critiques the efficiency of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and the Code of Conduct Bureau. While there have been modest gains in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, the corruption structure is yet to disintegrate.
