Description
Ending poverty in all its forms has been talk of the town since the inception of the Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals, and a study by World Bank highlighted that by 2030 nine out of every ten people in Sub-Saharan Africa will be living in extreme poverty. Since the 1960s, the SSA region has been involved in various trade agreements which are bilateral and multilateral in nature but the economic benefits derived from these agreements cannot be significantly experienced within the region. This necessitated the need to investigate trade gains by sources on poverty alleviation in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the motive to understand whether SSA member states can benefit more from intra-regional trade or inter-regional trade.
