ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES: COMPUTING AND TOURISM aims at contributing to the improvement of learning approaches. One basic objective is to help Learners (Students and Trainees) and Professionals in the fields of Information Technology and Tourism to be more familiar with the lexicon (terminology/vocabulary) and be more communicative as far as the corporate world is concerned. In addition, this is to put emphasis on practice rather than theory by contextualizing in accordance with the day-to-day situations faced in the business environment. Thus, active and interactive approaches centered in the Learner are prioritized. The Learner plays a key role in the learning process. In these contexts, he/she can be more constructive and motivated to develop his/her language skills. Role playing activities, simulations, dialogues, working in pairs are put forward in order to allow Learners have an overview about similar cases in the socio-professional domain.
