A study was undertaken to determine Land use on soil erodibility indices on the lower coal measures (LCM) geological sediments of the Anambra basin, Nigeria. Located in the middle belt of Nigeria made up of Owukpa district in Ogbadibo local government of Benue State and Okaba area in Ojoku district in Ankpa local government of Kogi State. Both areas are parts of the Lower Coal Measures (Mamu Formation) Geological Sediment of the Idah – Ankpa Plateau of the Anambra basin. Owukpa district is geographically located within latitude 060 57′ and 070 00’N, and longitude 070 38′ and 070 42’E while Okaba geographical coordinates are 7° 23′ 0″ North, 7° 44′ 0″ East (i.e. between latitudes 70 201 – 70 431 N of the Equator and longitudes 70 221 – 70 521 E of the Prime Meridian). The area is underlain by two Formations: The Mamu (Early to Late Maastritchtian) and Ajali (Middle to Late Maastritchtian) Formations. The coal bearing sequence is found in Mamu Formation.
