This book explores the potential of fish farming to promote sustainable livelihoods in conflict-affected areas of Borno State, Nigeria. With abundant water resources and a deficit in fish supply, fish farming offers a pathway to improve food security, nutrition, and income for youths and communities. A mixed-methods approach was used, involving 300 participants from 27 local government areas. The projected annual profit of $194,250 indicates feasibility, with an initial investment recoverable in 2.6 years excluding personnel costs or 4.1 years including personnel costs. However, inhibiting factors such as limited access to finance, technical expertise gaps, inadequate infrastructure and security matters need to be addressed. The study recommends government, non-governmental, and inter-governmental support for investment, capacity building, and infrastructure development to maximize impact on sustainable livelihoods.
