Pudu Deer Conservation

This book deals with the taxonomy, distribution, ecology, genetics, phylogeny, and health status of the pudu deer (Pudu puda). It is one of the smallest deer in the world, endemic to southern South America, and considered a near-threatened species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature but has not received the necessary attention for its protection and conservation. The book is the culmination of several years of fieldwork and laboratory work, complemented by an extensive literature review and a rigorous analysis of research conducted in Chile. Thus, this book is an important step forward to reduce the knowledge gap for the pudu deer, aiming to contribute to its conservation.
