Description

The book discusses the incessant religious conflict in Nigeria even before her independent in 1960 which has led to premature death of thousands of people, loss of public and private properties, negative impression of the country abroad and adversely affect her economic. The author argues that lack of religious tolerance is one of the major causes of the violence and religious leaders (i.e. teacher of religions) because of the position they occupy in the society must work to ensure peace and harmony reign in the country. The three major religions in Nigeria, the traditional religions, Islam and Christianity are religions of peace, the leaders must also preach peace, live peace, avoid provocative or hate utterances, intercede for the country and encourage inter-religious dialogue to promote friendship among religious adherences.
