DC-DC boost converters act a crucial part in stabilizing the voltage output of PV panels. The main aim of this paper is to design a 50W high gain DC-DC boost converter. This work presents the mathematical analysis of high gain DC-DC boost converter in assessment with conventional boost converter. Firstly, the mathematical analysis was used to calculate the parameter for the critical components selection. After the critical components were selected, simulations were establish to study the functioning of proposed high gain boost converter. Then the high gain DC boost converter prototype board was fabricated in a size of 100mm x 100mm. It is able to achieve 300V output voltage and power rating of 50W from variable input voltage range from 12V to 36V. The highest gain count is 25 with input voltage 12V but lower power rating at 15W, it has measured peak efficiency of 84.30% with input voltage 24V.
