This monograph is dedicated to our project leader, Sarinova Assiya, whose vision launched the project “Development of technology for intelligent preprocessing of aerospace images for recognition and identification of various objects” (Grant IRN AP19678773). She devoted her career to remote sensing challenges, laying the groundwork for these technologies.

The work studies compression methods and archival systems for multispectral remote sensing data. Chapter 1 analyzes lossless methods (DPCM, JPEG-LS, CCSDS 123, wavelets, 3D-SPIHT) and lossy ones (JPEG/3D-DCT, JPEG2000, PCA JPEG2000), tested on 230 scenes from Landsat 8, Sentinel-2, MODIS, and Hyperion.
