Description

The Fearless Comrade Hannibal Cooper is an incredible war-action-packed booklet that exposes the ugliness of war. It focuses on the warpath life of Michael, the Black young man who joined the liberation war from college mid-70s; it touches the lives of people along the way. The booklet gives an insight into the difficult path that Michael navigated. Upon joining the armed struggle, he adopted Hannibal Cooper as his War pseudo-name. Hannibal was a brave liberation war fighter who had mastered the concept of attacking and defense. He was fearless and won many battles against well-oiled and highly mobile superior foes. Hannibal knew that he was surviving each passing day on borrowed time. Twenty-one days before the ceasefire, Hannibal was killed in one of the deadliest and ugliest battles in the armed struggle. They had been sold out by the ‘man of the cloth’. It was one of the dirtiest battles that remain indelible in human minds today. The booklet exhibits the war of liberation in Zimbabwe as a glorious struggle that demonstrated the Black African stamina. To chronicle it all, the liberation war was indeed a worthwhile struggle to be fought for, and finally, gave Zimbabwean freedom.
