The pandemic, COVID-19 can be likened to the ‘gángan’ (talking drum) which presents different faces to people in opposite directions. Much scholarly works have been done on it between 2019 and now. Most of these works have concentrated on the negative effects of the pandemic. This study examines the positive aspects of the plague. Data were collected through unstructured interviews and observations. The sample for the elicitation of data comprises ten (10) scholars. Five (5) were drawn from outside the country and the remaining five (5) were drawn from different parts of Nigeria. Analysis was conducted through Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), a systematic approach to estimating the strengths (benefits) and weaknesses (cost) of alternatives used to determine options which provide the best templates to achieving benefits, while preserving savings. First, the drastic reduction in transportation has brought about a drastic reduction in accidents of different kinds. Second, it has resulted in improved hygiene in our society. Third, it has led to job creation in the areas of manufacturing of hand sanitizers, soaps, facemasks, handgloves, etc.
