It is presented as monographs, reviews, surgical case reports, clinical images and original research articles on aspects of surgery. It highlights the pitfalls and problems of surgery in low-resource settings and the consequent importance and emphasis of clinical examination, diagnosis, surgical improvisation and innovation. The book is written in four volumes. Volume 1 entails basic surgical concepts and surgical sepsis; volume 2 entails topics on emergency surgery; volume 4 entails topics on surgical coloproctology and oncology.
