Description

Nowadays, the constant evolution of technologies, accompanied by the recurrence of natural disasters, political conflicts, and financial crises, puts increasing pressure on companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to be more innovative to maintain their market share and stay competitive. Resources such as managerial skills and corporate cultures are unique resources that a company can generate and accumulate internally to create distinctive capabilities and build core competencies. This book addressed the problem of SMEs struggling to obtain adequate resources to innovate and satisfy their goals of surviving and growing in a competitive and unpredictable market. The purpose of the study in this book was to determine if there is a relationship between leaders’ managerial competencies and innovative work behavior in SMEs using a quantitative methodology and a theoretical foundation of the resource-based view (RBV) and the competitive advantage theory. The study results show a statistically significant positive relationship between the leader’s managerial competencies and innovative work behavior.
