This chapter explore the ways in which undergraduate students in Malaysia using ChatGPT in learning and how if influence academic engagement. It shows that this AI tool become important in leaning, assisting them to find quick information, understanding topic matters and completing academic tasks. Most of students use ChatGPT to get the ideas, information, explanation and supports in academic duties. However, the chapter also brings into concern on some students may overreliance on ChatGPT, that will weaken their critical thinking abilities and manage academic work independently. There is also a concern on plagiarism, wrong information or impreciseness of ideas, and evaluating validity of information. Some of students also facing technical issue where the limitation of internet coverage and language barriers. This study involves 441 undergraduates, found that majority of them use it occasionally. Overall, the involvement is in moderate level. There is no significance difference across gender, level of studies and learning mode. Though most of them view ChatGPT as assistance, but many of them are usure on its effectiveness on learning.
