Literature’s imperative roles is encroached to all spheres of life such as culture, music, theatre, traditions and above all, the evolution of present day western education. It allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. We can gather a better understanding of culture and have a greater appreciation of them. We learn through the ways history is recorded, in the forms of manuscripts and through speech itself. The combination of literature and religion is a highly stylistic device developed by African novelists to render the African literature efficient and to create a certain correlation between the African writer and his audience and between his public and the African cosmic world overwhelmed by the psychic power and the supernatural forces. Through the following pieces of writing, it will be developed a certain number of themes constituent of African literature and the concept of traditional religious beliefs from some Anglophone African writers ‘eyes.
