Limb loss is a very dramatic event that changes completely an individual’s life from an abled to a disabled person. This event brings loss of function, sensation and change of body image, what compromises the victim’s life throughout his existence. The way people respond to this phenomenon is complex, influenced by a variety of personal, clinical, social, physical and environmental factors. Despite the complex nature of this event, life has to continue; understanding one’s experience is essential to enhance adaptation and follow up.
