WOMEN LEADERSHIP TRENDS IN THE REFORMED CHURCH IN ZIMBABWE

Women leadership is a recent phenomenon in both the African society and the African churches. The rise of influences of theologies of liberation exemplified in feminism as praxis of doing theology has resulted in improved gender relations in church leadership. The Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ) could not be spared by the women leadership revolution for it has witnessed two notable developmental phases in women leadership which are: the pioneering stage (1891-1983) and the liberal phase which spans from 1984 to date.
