Determination of different factors’ impact on vermicomposting and vermiculture

Heavy-handed intervention of humans on the surrounding medium has caused significant environmental damage, climate changes, deficit of ecologically healthy, high-quality food products, and as a consequence, rapid deterioration in human health. The crucial role in solution of these problems may be played by earthworms with the help of vermitechnology, in particular, its two directions: vermiculture and vermicomposting. Our monograph is devoted right to these issues. It consists of three chapters. In the first chapter there is given an information on earthworms’ species, spread, structure, reproduction, life style and properties. In the second chapter a brief review and analysis of works currently available in the literature, which are devoted to the effect of different factors on vermiculture and vermicomposting processes. Based on the importance of vermitechnology in solution of global problems, in the third chapter there are given the materials of our carried-out experiments, which were aimed to study the effect of different supplements on earthworm protein mass and cocoon reproduction degree. An analysis has been made and proper conclusions have been drawn there.
