This study optimized the process parameters of a locally designed screw-press virgin coconut oil (VCO) extraction machine to improve efficiency, throughput, oil yield, and reduce energy consumption. Parametric models were developed using Buckingham’s Pi theorem and validated through Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Finite Element Analysis (FEA) confirmed the structural integrity of the machine frame, with a factor of safety of 3.0, axial stresses ranging from –14.48 to 4.463 N/m², and maximum displacement of only 1.067 × 10⁻⁵ mm. The optimized operating conditions were: extraction temperature 64.39 °C, pressure 5.79 MPa, extraction time 39.90 minutes, and raw-material size 1.737 mm. Under these conditions, the machine achieved an oil yield of 1.412 kg/L, a mass balance of 2.608 kg, an energy consumption of 22.53 kWh, and an overall efficiency of 65.67%. ANOVA results confirmed the statistical significance of key factors, particularly the interaction between extraction pressure and moisture content. The work provides a robust, scalable framework for efficient VCO production suitable for industrial application.
