The Basics of Education Process Management offers a pragmatic approach to education. It is not about new sources of students for universities, but about caring for students and using them effectively. Unlike most pedagogical books, it contains a significant amount of mathematics. The process of improvement of student skills is analyzed with the help of a simplified model of the market of skills. The primary focus is to promote productive interactions between participants in the educational process.
In addition, a model of the evolution of student academic groups during the educational process, based on the matrix form of Lotka-Volterra multi-species equations, is applied for the analysis of academic group performance.
To estimate the quality of student relationships, an interaction matrix is computed on the basis of survey responses about student activities. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the matrix help explore the state and dynamics of a group, as well as the hidden roles of students within it. It is also useful for deciding the optimal method of student participation in order to maximize the overall productivity of the group.
