TOWARDS ZERO WASTE IN CONSTRUCTION

Description

The construction industry is one of the industries that has the greatest impact on the environment, being responsible for 50% of the CO2 released into the atmosphere and the generation of half of the solid waste generated in the world. This book aims to bring how the evolution of construction methods is important for a cleaner construction, resulting in zero waste on construction sites. In the development of the works, the construction and demolition waste (CDW) was described in terms of its structure and composition, its use for transformation, its potential risks to the environment and its nature or origin (Classes A, B, C and D), as well as the ways in which CDW is disposed of (reuse, recycling, transshipment and sorting areas), processing and landfills and co-processing of hazardous waste.
