It is one of the first guides on the identification of fish larvae in this important area. The book contains color photos as well as illustrations of about 29 families of reef and shore fish collected from the Red Sea over a period of 30 years. Color photos and illustrations include different developmental stages. The book also gives some information about the spawning area and season of each identified species as well as the best method of sampling. The author is an expert in the field and has been working on larval stages of reef fish for 30 years.
